The purpose of the Women’s Ministry at Church of the Lakes is to foster a joyful relationship with God for women of all ages by connecting with one another, exploring God’s story and serving together.
Our Women’s Ministry focuses on four areas: Spiritual, Social, Service, and Support. We look forward to your participation in these groups and activities.

Women’s Bible Study
Encountering God – Encountering God by Kelly Minter invites participants to discover the presence of God throughout Scripture and recognize how He meets us in the ordinary moments of life. Through biblical teaching, personal reflection, and group discussion, this study encourages us to move beyond simply knowing about God to experiencing a deeper, more personal relationship with Him.

Our journey to becoming whole, healthy and holy begins with recognizing that we need stability and nourishment beyond what we can provide for ourselves. Join the Rev. Dr. Linda Leon of Flourish Ministries as she explores spiritual formation through the biblical concepts of roots and fruits. Together, we’ll learn how to notice and respond to God’s love through life-giving spiritual practices which grow our understanding of Who God is, and who we are as a result.

Women’s Book Clubs

Provides an opportunity for Christian women to read books that support spiritual growth and to provide fellowship. Books include non-fiction, biographies and fiction discussed from a Christian perspective. Members may join at any time. Meets August through May.
Widow’s Connection

Women’s Exchange – Women’s Exchange is an all-inclusive community group open to all women. We meet on the 2nd & 4th Wednesdays of the month at 9:30 am. Our purpose is to provide mental and social stimulation and allow an arena for sharing concerns and discussing current issues. For more information about Women’s Exchange click here.

A freewill donation will go to HopeBridge. Church member Stephanie Getz will lead this upbeat exercise class.

Service
Faith in Action: Sisters in Christ Serving Together for His Kingdom
a time of fellowship and service
Date: Sunday, November 1st
Time: 3:00 – 5:00 pm
Join us for a special afternoon of fellowship and service as we share the love of Jesus and serve together for His Kingdom. We’ll have eight ministry stations, each representing one of the outreach ministries our church supports. Ministries represented will be Heart of Ohio Diaper Bank, TLC, Massillon Family Living Center, Encourage Everybody, Habitat for Humanity, Hope Bridge, The Pregnancy and Parenting Center, and Rahab. Through simple, hands-on projects, we’ll encourage these ministries and help further their mission of sharing Christ’s love. Come with a willing heart as we serve, encourage, and make a difference together for God’s glory! Bring a snack or dessert to share, along with a copy of your recipe to add to our collection of favorite treats.
Prayer Shawl
Dates: 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of every month, September – May

Knit and crochet prayer shawls to be a comfort for those going through trials in life both inside and outside our church. All skill levels are welcome. They even have supplies that you can use. Over 800 prayer shawls have been donated since this ministry started.
Baby Bundles Plus
Dates: 1st and 3rd Thursdays of every month, September – May

Makes baby quilts for children being baptized at our church and needy agencies. Sews & stuffs dolls for outpatient lab & surgical units at Akron Children’s Hospital and adult lap blankets for nursing home patients. Makes stuffed animals for Stark County Children’s Services, and needy agencies. Also sews dresses for girls in Africa. Help is needed in all areas. Instructions given.
Heart of Ohio Diaper Bank
Date: 1st Thursday of each month

The Heart of Ohio Diaper Bank is located in the warehouse area of Faith Family Church located at 8200 Freedom Ave. NW, North Canton. The Heart of Ohio Diaper Bank partners with churches and other community organizations to provide diapers, period products, and adult incontinence supplies to families in need. By meeting these basic needs, they bring hope, preserve dignity, and demonstrate Christ-like compassion to thousands of individuals throughout our region. Our Women’s Ministry Team of volunteers regularly wrap and pack diapers and other essential supplies for distribution to community partners. These projects don’t require special skills—just willing hands and compassionate hearts.
The Encouragers
Dates: One Saturday per month

The encouragers are a card making ministry that supports our GRACE6:8 Foster care ministries as well as other ministries within our church. They will meet to create cards to send out for upcoming occasions. Sometimes cards will also be created for personal use. Feel free to bring your own supplies, but they will be provided as well.

Care & Connect

The mission of our Care and Connect support group is to connect, support, and encourage foster, adoptive, and kinship families as they serve the vulnerable children in our community. For more information, contact Julia Fabich
P.A.C.T – Praying for Adult Children Together

We come together to pray for our adult children and grandchildren and commit to praying for one another’s requests between gatherings. Prayer concerns shared will remain confidential. Please bring a notebook to record prayer requests. *Both women and men are welcome.
