The purpose of the Women’s Ministry at Church of the Lakes is to foster a joyful relationship with God for women of all ages by encouraging spiritual growth, serving God, and supporting one another.
Our Women’s Ministry focuses on four areas: Spiritual, Social, Service, and Support. We look forward to your participation in these groups and activities.
Finding I Am: How Jesus Fully Satisfies the Cry of your Heart
Dates: Mondays, March 4th – April 15th

Description: What is the deep cry of your heart? The prayer you keep repeating? Jesus not only cares about this deep, spiritual wrestling, but He also wants to step in and see you through it. Lysa TerKeurst explores the seven I AM statements of Jesus from the Gospel of John. We will trade feelings of emptiness for the fullness of knowing who Jesus is like never before.
“Electric Power Company” Bible Study

Description: Using the acronym of “Electric Power Company”, the study will cover the New Testament books of Ephesians (Electric), Philippians (Power) and Colossians (Company).

Women’s Weekend Retreat

Walk to Emmaus
Dates: April 4th – 7th, 2019 or October 24th – 27th, 2019
Place: Camp Wanake, Beach City, Ohio
Description: A spiritual renewal program intended to develop Christian disciples and leaders. Liz Curtis Higgs Live – Endless Hope Tour

Description: Women are invited to a night of hope and joy. Liz Curtis Higgs is an author, speaker and encourager. She will share hope-filled stories to help us discover the deep-down joy and absolute peace that Jesus alone provides.

Widow’s Meet & Eat

Women’s Movie Meetup
Description: Movie meet-ups to see current faith-based movies showing in local theaters. Women who would like to be notified of these meet-ups should email Linda Studer to be added to the notification list.

Description: Knit and crochet prayer shawls to be a comfort for those going through trials in life both inside and outside our church. All skill levels are welcome, they can even teach you to knit or crochet and have supplies that you can use. Over 500 shawls have been donated since this ministry started.
Baby Bundles Plus

Description: Makes baby blankets for needy mothers, scent dolls for Aultman NICU, adult lap robes, comfort rolls for stroke patients, ouchie dolls for Children’s Hospital labs, and stuffed animals for Children’s Services and the Fire Departments.

Description: A group for mothers of young children. Being a mom is beautiful and hard. We get that you need a safe space to breathe and a place to get some encouragement that what you are doing matters. Friends are welcome. During the summer, we meet off-site with our children.
P.A.C.T. – Praying for Adult Children Together
Dates: 1st Thursday of every month
Time: 10:00 am

Description: We come together to pray for our adult children and grandchildren and commit to praying for one another’s requests between gatherings. Prayer concerns shared will remain confidential. Please bring a notebook to record prayer requests. Both women and men are welcome.
We have more ministries and activities in the planning stages. If you have an idea to share we invite you to join the steering committee and help us plan additional events.
Childcare is provided for all groups hosted at the church, if requested beforehand. Scholarships are available if you are unable to afford the fee for a class.
