The purpose of the Women’s Ministry at Church of the Lakes is to foster a joyful relationship with God for women of all ages by encouraging spiritual growth, serving God, and supporting one another.

Our Women’s Ministry focuses on four areas: Spiritual, Social, Service, and Support. We look forward to your participation in these groups and activities.


Bible Studies:
Revelation: Lessons on History, Meaning, and Application
Dates: Mondays, September 10th – March 4th
Times: 1:00 – 2:30 pm or 6:30 – 8:00 pm

Description: Revelation, a video study featuring top New Testament scholar Craig S. Keener teaching through the book of Revelation in 22 engaging and challenging lessons. These lessons explore the links between the Bible’s final book and how we should live our lives today. Bring your Bible.

Off-Site Bible Study
Dates: Mondays, ongoing

Description: This group focuses on studying specific books of the Bible. This fall, the focus will be on Daniel.

Description: A fun-filled evening features national speakers, authors, comedians, and worship. You won’t want to miss this evening full of laughter, learning, stories, and music! Women’s Weekend Retreat
Date: Friday, April 5th – Sunday, April 7th, 2019
Place: Carlisle Inn at Walnut Creek
Speaker: Rev. Nancy Conley

Cost: $225/person, based on double occupancy. Includes room, breakfasts, Saturday dinner buffet, and materials.

Walk to Emmaus
Dates: October 25th – 28th (waitlist) or April 11th – 14th, 2019
Place: Camp Wanake, Beach City, Ohio
Description: A spiritual renewal program intended to develop Christian disciples and leaders. On this four-day experience, you will learn more about your faith, deepen your relationship with Jesus and connect with others on the walk. If interested, contact Dawn Crum, 330-830-9042. Fund-raiser at Texas Roadhouse

Tour of Spring Hill Historic Home
Date: Saturday, October 20th
Time: 10:00 am
Place: Spring Hill, 1401 Springhill Lane NE, Massillon, OH 44646
Cost: $5 adults, $4 seniors & students, children under 5 are free
Description: A tour of this historic home, built in 1821, that was part of the Underground Railroad. The tour lasts approximately 1 hour. Anyone is welcome to join us—you don’t have to be female to attend. Description: Provides an opportunity for Christian women to read books that support spiritual growth and to provide fellowship. Books read include fiction, non-fiction, and biographies and will be discussed from a Christian perspective. Members may join at any time, meets August – May.

Widow’s Meet & Eat

Golden Girls
Dates: 2nd Tuesday of each month (except January)

Women’s Exchange
Dates: 2nd and 4th Wednesday of every month, September – May

Cost: Visit one time for free. Yearly membership fee is $25.
Description: Provides mental and social stimulation and allow an arena for sharing concerns and discussing current issues. Offers opportunities for discussions of substance, speakers/special programs and outings/field trips. For more information visit or email

REFIT® Fitness Group
Date: Saturdays, beginning October 6th
Time: 10:00 – 11:00 am
Place: Church, Activity Center
Description: A cardio dance program that engages the whole person: body, mind, and soul. In this hour-long fitness class, participants will find easy to learn movements, inspiring music, and a family-friendly environment. Open to women, men, youth and children. Suggested donation of $3 per family each week.


Prayer Shawl
Dates: 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of every month, September – May

Description: Knit and crochet prayer shawls to be a comfort for those going through trials in life both inside and outside our church. All skill levels are welcome, they can even teach you to knit or crochet and have supplies that you can use. Over 500 shawls have been donated since this ministry started.

Baby Bundles Plus
Dates: 2nd and 4th Thursdays of every month, September – May

Description: Makes baby blankets for needy mothers, scent dolls for Aultman NICU, adult lap robes, comfort rolls for stroke patients, ouchie dolls for Children’s Hospital labs, and stuffed animals for Children’s Services and the Fire Departments.


MOPS and MOMSnext

Description: A group for mothers of young children. Being a mom is beautiful and hard. We get that you need a safe space to breathe and a place to get some encouragement that what you are doing matters. Friends are welcome. During the summer, we meet off-site with our children.

P.A.C.T. – Praying for Adult Children Together
Dates: 1st Thursday of every month, starting September 6th
Time: 10:00 am

Description: We come together to pray for our adult children and grandchildren and commit to praying for one another’s requests between gatherings. Prayer concerns shared will remain confidential. Please bring a notebook to record prayer requests. Both women and men are welcome.

We have more ministries and activities in the planning stages. If you have an idea to share we invite you to join the steering committee and help us plan additional events.

Childcare is provided for all groups hosted at the church, if requested beforehand. Scholarships are available if you are unable to afford the fee for a class.
