Missions

Mission Trips

The Lord commands us to “Love your neighbor as yourself” Leviticus 19:18. Jesus actually calls us to be His hands and feet and compels us to serve one another through love.

Outreach

We value opportunities to share the light of Christ with our community.

Below are just a few ways that you can join our efforts:

Royal Family Kids Camp Every July, Church of the Lakes offers a full week of positive memories for children who harbor painful memories of abuse or neglect. The Camp serves Stark County foster children, ages 7-11. The week of camp is full of activities and events, such as swimming, sports, a camper variety show, a carnival, a birthday party with presents, making birdhouses, shopping in the free clothing store, hiking, painting, a spa day and so much more. Camp is a great way for these children to learn about the love of Jesus Christ and how He can impact their life.

Habitat for Humanity Every other year, Church of the Lakes builds a Habitat for Humanity house. Habitat for Humanity believes that every man, woman and child should have a decent, safe and affordable place to live. Many people in our community, right around the corner from us, do not have a safe and affordable place to live. We strive to rectify this by taking the initiative to both fund and build a Habitat House. We have completed 9 houses thus far and we are building our 10th in the summer of 2018. Once the house is built, the partner family, who works alongside of us in construction, purchase the remaining mortgage on the house with a no-profit, no-interest loan. Habitat for Humanity is a great organization to truly be the hands and feet of Christ by offering a home for someone to live in and by sharing the love of Christ in the process.

Lil’ Lambs Closet Lil’ Lambs Closet is a children’s consignment sale where a percentage of the profits benefit Christian Children’s missions and ministries in Stark County and surrounding areas. Lil’ Lambs Closet, established in August 2003, is a semi-annual children’s consignment sale.  The sale provides local parents a means to sell gently used children’s items – clothing (infant to children’s size 20), shoes, toys, games, books, baby equipment, nursery furniture and maternity clothing. It provides families in our community the opportunity to buy good quality items at reasonable prices and 30% of each sale’s profits are donated to local children’s charities.

Church attendees and members of our community are invited to participate as sellers, volunteers, and shoppers. Lil’ Lambs provides a retail store setting for consignors to sell their gently used items. Consignors prepare and price their own items and Lil’ Lambs does the rest!  The Consignor (Seller) keeps 70% of the selling price and 30% is donated to charities. For more information on the upcoming sales visit their website.
