There are many opportunities to be involved in the music ministries at Church of the Lakes.
Adult Music Ministry
TRADITIONAL WORSHIP
SANCTUARY CHOIR
This 25-voice choir sings weekly at the 8:30 traditional service and rehearses immediately afterward, Sundays, 9:30 – 10:15 am.
CHANCEL CHOIR
This 30-voice choir sings weekly at the 11:00 traditional service and rehearses Wednesdays, 7:30 – 9:00 pm. This choir also provides music at additional special services and occasions throughout the year, such as Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, Cantata Sunday, spring concerts, and community events.
BELLS of the LAKES
This 13-member handbell choir plays five octaves of Malmark handbells and rehearses Wednesdays, 6:00 – 7:15 pm. They play approximately once a month at the 8:30 and 11:00 traditional worship services.
JOY RINGERS
This 4-member handbell ensemble for the advanced ringer plays four-in-hand handbell pieces and quartets. They play at the 8:30 and 11:00 traditional services approximately once every 6 weeks.
MEN’S CHORUS
This 12-voice all-male choir rehearses on the 2nd & 4th Tuesday of every month, 6:30 – 7:15 pm and sings at the 8:30 and 11:00 worship services approximately once every 6 weeks. This group is open to all males including youth beginning in 9th grade.
WOMEN’S CHORUS
This 16-voice all-female choir rehearses on the 2nd & 4th Tuesday of every month, 5:45 – 6:30 pm and sings at the 8:30 and 11:00 worship services approximately once every 6 weeks. This group is open to all females including youth beginning in 9th grade.
CONTEMPORARY WORSHIP
PRAISE TEAM
The praise team plays during the 9:30 & 11:00 contemporary services every Sunday. With a convenient rotating schedule, there is always room for new musicians and vocalists. If you are interested in this group contact Tony Walsh.
Children & Youth Music Ministry
CHERUB CHOIR
This choir is for children age 3 – Kindergarten who love to sing, dance, and serve the Lord through joyful song. They rehearse on Sundays, 10:30 – 10:50 am and sing about once a month at both contemporary and traditional services. Click here to register your child for the Cherub Choir.
WESLEY CHOIR
This choir is for children in 1st – 6th grades and involves unison choral singing with instruction in reading music and vocal techniques. They rehearse on Wednesdays, 5:00 – 5:30 pm. This choir sings about once a month at both contemporary and traditional services, and at a Christmas Eve service. Click here to register your child for the Wesley Choir.
CHAOS YOUTH WORSHIP BAND
The worship band is for youth 9th – 12th grades and plays weekly at the CHAOS service on Wednesdays at 7:30 pm. They rehearse immediately before, 6:15 – 7:15 pm. If you are interested in joining this group contact Tony Walsh.
YOUTH BELLS
This handbell choir is for youth in 6th – 12th grades, who are musically advanced. Some musical training in voice or an instrument and an ability to read music are generally required. Youth Bells rehearse on Sundays, 12:00 – 1:00 pm. This group plays in traditional worship services approximately 6-8 times per year.
