Real discipleship is not about how much you know about Jesus. It is about how much you are like Jesus. A life obeying Jesus is a life that sees the world as Jesus sees the world, responds to the world as Jesus responded, and pours itself into the world to partner with Jesus in transforming the world.

The essence of this dimension of the journey of discipleship is the experience of personal transformation to become like Jesus. It is a lifelong journey for most of us.

The Apostle Paul writes in Ephesians 4: “We are not meant to remain as children . . . but we are meant to . . . grow up in every way into Christ the Head.” A life obeying Jesus is about ‘growing up,’ developing our lives around the teachings of Jesus.
